Counsel Pro Bono Clients by Phone (Remote Opportunity)

Prairie State Legal Services' telephone counseling program needs volunteer attorneys to provide brief advice to low income clients and those over the age of 60 with private landlord tenant, consumer debt, guardianship, family law, and small claims issues. Volunteer attorneys may work remotely from their home or office, or in Prairie State’s Wheaton or Waukegan offices, but calls must be made during telephone counseling hours, Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Prairie State is the only general civil legal aid program for 36 counties in northern and central Illinois, including all 6 of the collar counties. Our staff and volunteers work through 11 offices to protect the rights of low-income, disabled and elderly clients, veterans and victims of violence.
