Closing Assistance to First-Time Homebuyers

Volunteer attorneys assist low-income first-time homebuyers with all aspects of closing on their new home. The attorney negotiates the terms of the real estate contract, and reviews, and explains all the documentation related to the closing and home purchase to the client.

The Community Law Project does not offer training for this volunteer opportunity but does provide volunteers with ongoing support.

The Community Law Project is dedicated to assisting Chicago’s low-income communities in generating businesses, jobs, and family income to enable people to improve the quality of their lives through non-litigation transactional legal services to community-based organizations, small businesses, and low-income first-time home buyers.
