Access Living is a disability rights organization largely governed and staffed by people with disabilities. It works to eliminate the many barriers that prevent people with disabilities from realizing full independence in the community, including barriers to housing, transportation, education, government services/programs, and business establishments.

In this interactive training, Kasey Franco of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago will provide participants with the tools they need to effectively communicate with others, including those living with mental health conditions. Participants will also gain an understanding of common emotional responses of those grappling with a loved one living with mental illness in addition to how to access a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trained police officer and other emergency mental health resources.
